Jalisco, as part of its strategy to position itself as the most competitive destination for global companies looking to establish themselves in Mexico, announced the consolidation of investment from YOFC, a worldwide leader in optical fiber supply, optical cable, and integrated solutions.

The Chinese company invested 341 million pesos in a production plant located in Lagos de Moreno, thus generating 203 direct jobs in the region. Machinery installation began in December of last year, and the plant formally commenced operations this month.

While YOFC already had sales offices in the country, the production plant in Jalisco is their first in Mexico. The new facility covers an area of 19,515 square meters, dedicated to the manufacturing of optical fiber, cables, accessories, and solutions for the telecommunications industry.

"This company is extremely relevant to the high-tech industry and solidifies Jalisco as the epicenter of nearshoring, especially in this sector. Jalisco is unstoppable in Foreign Direct Investment," highlighted Roberto Arechederra, Secretary of Economic Development of the Government of Jalisco.

The YOFC plant will not only address domestic demand but also supply markets in Latin America and North America, positioning Jalisco as a point of great importance in the supply chain of advanced technology.
