Yanfeng Seating inaugurates second plant in Nuevo León

The company Yanfeng Seating México , manufacturer of car seat sets , inaugurated its second plant in Monterrey Technology Park , located in Ciénega de Flores and will continue to bet on Nuevo León, as it announced that in 2024 it will begin its third expansion.

The China company is a leader in innovation for its products, mainly vehicle seats, with vertical integration for motor solutions.

An investment of 23 million dollars was made in this plant and 800 jobs will be created , where they will manufacture up to 800,000 sets of automotive seats for global customers.

The director of the plant, Jun Lang Chen, commented that this expansion is a great opportunity to expand his client portfolio, and in 2024 "we are going to carry out a new expansion, due to the industrial tradition of Monterrey, due to the high level of education and because of the support of the state government, this helps us to create more jobs and bet on the long term, with innovation and development”.

In turn, the deputy director of the plant, Jorge Armando Aguilar Castañuela, commented that for more than two years since the first plant began, they have worked as a team, with a mixture of cultures between Mexico and China, but with the commitment to support to many families, creating jobs, with stability and development.

The State Economy Secretary, Iván Rivas Rodríguez, commented that Yanfeng Seating produces the structure of the seats and supplies the automotive industry, assembly companies such as Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Tesla, and the production is for the export and national markets. .

He stressed that Nuevo León is focused on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), from sectors of the future, such as cybersecurity and electromobility, this year 7% of the investment is in electromobility, "and we are sure that it will continue to grow."

Rivas Rodríguez, who accompanied Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda to the Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, recalled that firms such as Baker McKenzie spoke of nearshoring and the potential of Monterrey. "That they are mentioning it, and now we are here at the inauguration of the second plant and they (Yanfeng) tell us that they expect a third stage."

Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda stressed that it is a first-world company, a supplier to the Tesla vehicle assembly company.

Tesla Suppliers and Green Vehicle Incentives

Regarding the arrival of Tesla suppliers , the president said that “we have everything ready, we have faith that (the investment) will materialize, it depends on many factors, on the stock market; We have been giving investment announcements from some Tesla suppliers since November."

The governor said that, within the 2023 budget, the Expenditure Law allows the state government to provide administrative and fiscal facilities in electromobility.

"We announce a 50% discount on all expenses, taxes and rights for hybrid or electric cars in Nuevo León. That this new era of renewable energy climate change is really promoted," said the state president.
