With an investment of 207 million dollars , Brembo , a world leader in the design and production of high-performance braking systems, inaugurated the latest expansion of its plant in Escobedo , Nuevo León, the third in the state and, to date, the largest Italian company in the world.
The expansion, which began in 2021, will allow Brembo to double the production of the factory and will improve all stages of the production process of aluminum Calipers , from casting to manufacturing and assembly, creating 500 jobs until 2027 in this process.
This 30,000-square-meter plant expansion, located in the Pocket Park Escobedo Industrial Park , will help Brembo meet the goal of making six million Calipers , and surpass the nearly three million pieces it made before said investment.
"The expansion of the Escobedo plant greatly increases Brembo's ability to serve our customers in North America.
“As Brembo continues to advance the world of brakes, advanced facilities like this one help bring our vision to life. This represents another step in our mission to be a solutions provider and serve our customers globally,” said Brembo North America President Stéphane Rolland.
He highlighted Nuevo León as "a great place to do business", with a privileged location that allows it to be very close to the United States. “There are great skills, talent and a competitive environment that is conducive to Brembo's growth.”
The governor of the state, Samuel García Sepúlveda, thanked Brembo for making this important investment, while highlighting what Nuevo León represents for nearshoring . "We are the number one state in nearshoring, 72 percent of nearshoring that comes to Mexico arrives in Nuevo León."
He announced that he will travel to Korea this weekend, with the aim of " turning Nuevo León into a world center of electromobility, where electric cars, new batteries and other products are produced ."
For his part, José María Garza de Silva, CEO of GP Desarrollos , the group that owns the industrial park where the Italian multinational is located, thanked them for the work they have done together with Brembo.
“Our relationship with Brembo is one of our most successful stories today. We have had the pleasure of doing business since 2014, and I have to say that Brembo is not only one of our great clients, but also one of our most challenging. We are grateful for this opportunity to grow by his side.”
The inaugural event was also attended by the Italian Ambassador to Mexico, Luigi De Chiara, as well as various Mexican authorities and institutional representatives.
