The Wistron Ciudad Juárez company laid the first stone for the construction of what will be a new building to expand operations in the Río Bravo industrial park.

In an exclusive interview for Mexico Industry, Pablo Lozano, deputy general manager of Wistron, shared that this new building responds to the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of operations with some current clients.

The project was started a year and a half ago. It will have 40,000 square feet. It will have two buildings: one for automatic insertion; the other, for final assembly.

It is estimated that it will generate 2,000 to 4,000 new jobs . In addition, some employees of the company will work in the new facilities.

The building will have state-of-the-art technology. 60% of the equipment will transfer it from its existing operations and 40% is new.

It is estimated that by the summer of 2022, the new building will begin operations. Pablo Lozano estimated that the hiring of personnel will begin in April.

He also shared that the building will open the door for students of technical and engineering careers. "Careers like mechatronics or systems engineering can benefit from projects like this," he said.

“Wistron is committed to the community. It is a growing company that sees the existing business opportunity in the world, due to the movement of supply chains ”, he added.

“Lately, there is a wave of new technological processes in the area. Today's students will be the leaders who will make those processes effective in attracting more business and customers. In fact, there is a latent concern in the industry about whether we will have the capacity to meet technological needs. Wistron thinks so, and we must bet on that ”, he concluded.
