Webinar SelectUSA: Prepare to Expand Your Business to the USA

SelectUSA, in its efforts to attract Mexican entrepreneurs aiming to expand their operations to the United States, is gearing up for the “2025 SelectUSA Mexico Conference.” Scheduled for February 25-26, the event will showcase opportunities and incentive packages offered by U.S. states across various industries.

Clarissa Bonillas, Internationalization Specialist at SelectUSA, revealed that this will be the second edition of the conference in Mexico. The inaugural event, held in March this year, was highly successful among the Mexican business community.

According to Bonillas, the first conference invited Mexican entrepreneurs from all sectors, drawing nearly 300 participants over two days. These attendees learned directly from over 60 representatives of U.S. economic development organizations (EDOs), representing nearly 30 locations across the country.

Encouraged by these results, the second edition will take place in Mexico City, accommodating up to 400 business owners.

“This is not an event for exporters; it’s for companies interested in manufacturing their products with a 'Made in USA' label to access all the advantages it offers,” Bonillas clarified.

During the two-day event, participants will engage with EDOs from across the U.S., including the West Coast, Midwest, and East Coast.

“We continue to see strong interest from EDOs eager to connect with Mexican companies actively seeking physical expansion into the United States,” she added.

Santiago Dávila, Commercial Officer for the U.S. Commercial Service in Mexico, described the 2025 SelectUSA Mexico Conference as a prelude to the SelectUSA Investment Summit held annually in Washington, D.C.

“This conference brings EDOs and Mexican entrepreneurs together to initiate discussions as part of their preparation for the Investment Summit in May or June,” Dávila explained.

He added that the conference serves as a platform for the “investment journey,” a long-term process encompassing various stages of investment, which can take one to three years to complete. The objective is to create the right environment for fostering relationships and supporting foreign companies before they attend the Investment Summit.

“The Investment Summit isn’t a trade show. Companies aren’t there to sell or buy; they’re there to explore regions, build connections, and understand opportunities in the U.S.,” Bonillas noted.

Is the “2025 SelectUSA Mexico Conference” Right for You?

Ahead of the conference in Mexico City, SelectUSA has organized a series of webinars to provide details about the February event. These sessions aim to clarify the content and benefits attendees can expect.

The webinars feature EDOs from states such as California, Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, and North Dakota. The next session is scheduled for December 10 at 10:00 a.m. and will last 90 minutes.

In addition to U.S. EDOs, the webinar will feature Pro Mexico Industry, a digital platform specializing in attracting investment by providing strategic information about Mexico’s competitive advantages. The platform includes detailed maps and listings of key industrial parks and companies in Mexico and South Texas.

These webinars are designed to help businesses assess whether the 2025 SelectUSA Mexico Conference aligns with their goals for establishing operations in the United States.

“SelectUSA is here to foster successful relationships and expansions in the U.S.,” Bonillas emphasized.
