Vehicle production in Mexico grows 6% in June

Automotive assemblers installed in Mexico assembled 285,318 units during June , which represents a growth of 6% , compared to the same period last year, which was 269,156 cars.
This figure was released in the monthly report of the Administrative Registry of the Light Vehicle Automotive Industry of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
According to the data presented, from January to June, 1,661,346 vehicles were produced in 2022 , which results in a positive variation of 3.93%, since during the first six months of 2021, 1,598,592 units were assembled.
The automotive brands that had an increase in the assembly of light vehicles during June were: BMW Group with 5,825; Ford Motor reached 22,783; General Motors ended the month with 76,291; Kia made 26,000 units; Mazda produced 12,541; while Mercedes-Benz manufactured 10,388; Stellantis reached 33,874; Toyota finished with 21,662; Volkswagen assembled 27,728 and JAC had production of 1,122.
EXPORT LIGHT VEHICLES
Regarding exports, the Inegi registered an increase of 1.4%, as Mexico sent a total of 237,674 units abroad; while in the sixth month of 2021, 234,394 vehicles were sent.
It should be noted that, from January to June of this year, 1,404,595 cars were exported , a figure that remained the same, sending the same number of units during the first six months of 2021.
The automotive companies with positive values in their exports were: Audi with 15,131; Ford Motor shipped 21,061 units; Kia exported 21,300; Stellantis sent abroad 35,171; Toyota had a total of 23,908 and Volkswagen ended the month with 28,434 units exported.
