Valero bets on Tamaulipas: 120 million dollars allocated to new operations in Altamira

The Valero company will invest around 120 million dollars to expand its presence in Tamaulipas through a maritime distribution terminal in the Port of Altamira , with which it will be able to store and distribute up to 1.1 million barrels of regular, premium and diesel gasoline in Mexico.
The San Antonio, Texas-based company will act with the Mexican company Operadora de Terminales Marítimas MexPlus ; The investment announcement occurred after a meeting between the Tamaulipas Economic Development Secretariat and Valero executives .
Valero , an international producer and marketer of transportation fuels and petrochemical products, has been operating in the state for four years through a storage terminal installed in the border city of Nuevo Laredo. “ With a capacity of 195,000 barrels, in operation by the North American company NuStar, which represents an increase of 38% in the installed capacity of hydrocarbon storage in the entity ”, is indicated in official information.
Valero 's new operations in Altamira will be reflected in the 165% increase in the gasoline and diesel storage capacity that Tamaulipas currently has and also in upcoming investments by local businessmen.
The meeting was attended by Carlos García, vice president of Latin American operations and general director of Valero Mexico ; Gerardo Hernández Vargas, director of government affairs and public relations, and Diego Naveda Priego, public affairs advisor, both from Valero .
On behalf of Tamaulipas, the Secretary of Economic Development, Ninfa Cantú Deándar; the investment undersecretary Anabell Flores and Luis Cantú and the technical secretary Luis Cantú.
