Unilever announced that it will invest 400 million dollars over the next three years to build a new manufacturing plant in Nuevo León, where it will create 1,200 direct and indirect jobs .

From these facilities, which are expected to start operations in 2024, they will manufacture beauty and personal care products for regional export.

It should be noted that this is the third largest foreign investment so far in this government, which at the end of 2022 totaled 114 projects.

The new plant is being designed to achieve lighthouse status,  which is international recognition for factories that use state-of-the-art technologies to increase productivity and efficiency, while significantly limiting their impact on the environment.

Reginaldo Ecclissato, Unilever  's global supply chain leader, commented that they are excited about this new alliance with the Government of Nuevo León to develop the new world-class factory in Salinas Victoria, headquarters of local and international manufacturing operations

"This new factory represents an important investment for the growth and development of Mexico, Nuevo León and Unilever for the coming years."

Mexico is among the 10 most important countries for Unilever in the world, it is a key center for the export of Unilever beauty and personal care products to more than 25 countries.
