In a strategic move to strengthen Mexico’s national economy and capitalize on the momentum of nearshoring, the U.A.C Logistics Park was officially inaugurated this week. Positioned as a vital platform for attracting foreign investment and energizing global supply chains from the Gulf of Mexico, this new development marks a significant step in Mexico’s evolving industrial landscape.
The park is part of the broader "Plan México" initiative, which aims to establish the country as a strategic hub for multinational companies seeking to relocate operations closer to the U.S. market. Spanning over 73 hectares, U.A.C has been designed as a world-class multimodal logistics hub, in alignment with the objectives of the Mexican Business Council for relocation and competitiveness.
The inauguration ceremony brought together key government officials and business leaders. Notable attendees included Miguel Ángel Andrés Torres Roldán, Director General of Governance, and Manuel Rivera Polaco, Trustee of the Veracruz City Council. Representing the State Secretariat of Economic and Port Development (SEDECOP) were Víctor Gonzalo Romero Sánchez, Director of Investment Attraction, and Óscar Miguel Nava Fernández, Coordinator of Strategic Projects.
Several major companies also participated in the event, including Ocean Deepwater Construction (ODC), Gas Natural del Noroeste, Euromodul, Arcotechos del Golfo, and COTECSA.
Veracruz: The Gulf’s Logistics Epicenter
With over 33 million tons of cargo moved in 2024, according to data from the Veracruz Port Administration (API Veracruz), the port of Veracruz has cemented its status as the most important logistics hub on the Gulf of Mexico. The synergy between the port and the new U.A.C industrial park presents a unique opportunity for businesses in sectors such as automotive, heavy machinery, logistics, and light manufacturing.
Torres Roldán praised the vision and commitment of local investors, emphasizing the positive impact their efforts will have on the development and prosperity of Veracruz.
Strategically located just 2 kilometers from the port of Veracruz, the U.A.C Logistics Park offers a key competitive advantage. It boasts direct connections to Mexico’s major highways and a private rail station linked to the FERROMEX, FERROSUR, and CPKC rail networks. These connections will allow companies to significantly reduce logistics time and costs.
The park’s infrastructure is robust and sustainable, featuring a desalination plant, solar-powered lighting, a heliport, rail spur, hydraulic concrete roads, aerial and ground surveillance, and corporate services such as office towers, a gas station, and a diesel supply center.
Beyond its international reach, U.A.C is poised to stimulate economic growth in Veracruz by creating both direct and indirect jobs. It will support sectors like transportation, construction, and services, attract foreign direct investment (FDI), and contribute to both state and national sustainable development goals.
The park aims to attract companies interested in the Built to Suit model, as well as those seeking to lease or purchase industrial lots, offering tailored services for logistics, automotive, manufacturing, and warehousing operations.
