Two Asian companies interested to settle in Matamoros

Asian
businessmen dedicated to the manufacturing of towers and wind power energy
generators are interested in establishing in Matamoros, Tamaulipas; thus was
announced by Arturo Gomez Ibarra, secretary of Economic Promotion and of Labor
in city.
“Since July Korean businessmen visited the city and as
well as other foreign investors had a tour by different industrial parks in the
city and were interested on investing here,” said the official.
There are
two Korean companies already that want to be in charge of the construction of
the helixes of the wind fans being built in this region, said Arturo Gomez
Ibarra.
The secretary of Economic Promotion said that in addition not only
companies are seeking to create the aforementioned product, but also the
towers, which if materialized there will be very important economic revenue for
Matamoros.
He underlined that two companies are from Korea, and are which up to the
moment have showed this interest to arrive to this border and generate part of
the pieces that will be required for the generation of wind power energy.
He emphasized that at the moment there is nothing in concrete, there
have been some approaches only, but the viable thing is that these companies
experienced in the matter, they will remain with those projects.
He indicated that the first one – due to previously established
agreements – the name cannot be disclosure, but he underlined that there is an
important progress regarding its settling in Matamoros.
Proposals are expected from some other companies to arrive to this region
seeking to invest and generate new job positions.
He said that development expectations are big and real, and it is
expected that they will be generating the required jobs for graduated
youngsters from our technical and higher education schools.
