Highway security has become one of the most pressing challenges for Mexico’s trucking industry. To strengthen its operations and improve customer confidence, Trancasa has established a strategic alliance with Secure Fleet Solutions, a company specializing in tracking and high-security technology.
Julia Martínez, Marketing Manager at Trancasa, said the company is investing in innovative solutions to increase protection for drivers, cargo, and equipment.
“More than ever, security is a priority. In times of uncertainty, at Trancasa we focus on protecting the operator, the freight, and our units. That’s why we look for technology partners that help us stay one step ahead,” Martínez said.
CC LOCK: preventing unauthorized trailer uncoupling
One of the most notable developments from the partnership is CC LOCK, an intelligent electronic lock for the truck’s fifth wheel. The device is designed to prevent unauthorized trailer disengagement—one of the most common practices used during cargo theft incidents.
According to Jorge Alberto Chávez López, Commercial Director at Secure Fleet Solutions, the product was developed after identifying a critical gap in traditional security systems.
“GPS platforms already include engine immobilization, panic buttons, and cameras. But we realized that while security protocols are being activated, criminals still have time to uncouple the trailer and take it away with another tractor. That’s where CC LOCK comes in,” Chávez explained.
Beyond theft prevention, CC LOCK generates traceability and documented evidence for every coupling and uncoupling event. The system can also support security programs such as CTPAT, without requiring companies to replace their existing technology platforms.
Early results and broader fleet security solutions
During its first year of implementation with Trancasa, the technology has already shown measurable impact.
“We’ve had at least two incidents where unauthorized uncoupling was prevented, buying time for authorities to arrive. That makes a major difference,” Chávez said.
Secure Fleet Solutions also offers a broader portfolio of fleet-security tools, including satellite tracking, interior and exterior cameras, door sensors, fuel monitoring, geofencing, and real-time video surveillance. Integrated into Trancasa’s operations, these capabilities are designed to improve visibility and control—particularly on high-risk routes—while raising overall security standards and strengthening customer trust.
A technology-driven approach to cargo security
The collaboration between Trancasa and Secure Fleet Solutions reflects how transportation operators are addressing current challenges through innovation and prevention. Instead of reacting after incidents occur, both companies are focused on closing vulnerabilities across the logistics chain—where every minute matters and every shipment carries high value.
