They project a 6.6% increase in the sale of electric and hybrid cars in Mexico

In Mexico, the sale of electric and hybrid cars is projected to increase , with a total increase in sales of 6.6 percent this year.

According to the Industry Review-April 2022 analysis by JD Power , the purchase of hybrid cars this year is expected to be 70,000 units, which represents a growth of 37.2%, in relation to the result of the previous year, which was 51,000 vehicles. 

It should be noted that this trend, which the consultant foresees, will continue until at least 2030, the year for which the placement of 178,000 new units is expected.

In addition, the sale of electric cars will also grow but at a slower rate than hybrid cars, since it will be 7,100 units in 2022 in the Mexican market. But, when considering its year-on-year growth, the increase will be 121.8% in relation to the result of 2022. 

JD Power projects that by 2030 , the annual sale of electric cars in Mexico of 84,600 units . According to the expectations of the consulting firm specialized in the automotive sector , the participation of hybrid car sales will exceed 10 times the sale of electric units, although both characteristics are considered friendly to the environment.

Likewise, in this 2022 an annual sale of 1,061,669 units is projected in Mexico, although the figure will exceed the introduction of cars in the Mexican market in 2021, the number of vehicles sold before the pandemic that was 1,317,931 units has not yet been reached. in 2019.
