The construction of the massive Libramiento Reynosa gas pipeline has commenced, with an investment of 2.98 billion pesos, as part of a strategy to strengthen the energy sector in the region.

Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya highlighted the significance of this historic moment, which will enable Tamaulipas to contribute to the recovery in hydrocarbons and electricity, reinforcing the country's energy sovereignty and ensuring that these resources directly benefit the nation's development and welfare.

The governor emphasized that the new pipeline, spanning 58 kilometers with a 24-inch diameter, represents a substantial upgrade in the region's energy infrastructure. This project will not only reduce risks to urban populations and the environment by replacing a 60-year-old pipeline, but it will also ensure a safe and stable supply of natural gas, boosting industrial development.

Abraham David Alipi Mena, the general director of CENAGAS, detailed that the Libramiento Reynosa pipeline will include 25 special constructions: five tunneling projects, eight directional crossings, and 12 open-cut crossings, covering 31 managed plots.

The estimated start date for operations is July 31, 2025, and this project is expected to significantly enhance safety conditions and gas transportation capacity in the region.

The event was attended by state officials, as well as mayors, legislators, and business leaders, who celebrated this crucial advancement for the region's energy sector.
