Taigene Mexico Invests USD 33.4 Million to Expand Automotive Motor Plant in Guanajuato

Taigene Mexico announced an expansion of its operations at Colinas de León I Industrial Park, reinforcing León, Guanajuato as a reliable destination for investment and business growth. The company, dedicated to automotive solutions, is moving forward with a new project that strengthens the city’s manufacturing momentum.

Automotive-focused industrial expansion

During an institutional visit to Taoyuan, Taiwan, municipal authorities confirmed a USD 33.4 million investment that will support the expansion of the local plant. Taigene will add 146 specialized jobs, further consolidating its presence in the municipality as a manufacturer of electric motors for a wide range of automotive applications.

Mayor Alejandra Gutiérrez emphasized that the growth of foreign companies is a clear indication of the competitive environment León offers. She noted that such business decisions directly contribute to the region’s economic strength by generating new employment opportunities.

New infrastructure and greater production capacity

The project includes the construction of an industrial facility on a 6,600 m² site, which will increase production of electric motors used in systems such as steering, ventilation, windshield wipers, seating, air pumps, and air conditioning. With this expansion, the city enhances its integration within the automotive value chain, one of the Bajío region’s main industrial pillars.

During the meeting in Taiwan, Luz Ángel Minguela González, Director of Investment Attraction, reiterated the Municipal Government’s support for companies choosing to expand within León’s productive environment. The delegation also included representatives from Grupo Copachisa, Citius AG, and specialists involved in the construction project.

Taigene has strengthened its role as a strategic supplier contributing to the municipality’s industrial diversification by adding technology, specialized employment, and manufacturing capacity geared toward global markets. Its expansion boosts regional competitiveness and deepens collaboration with companies across the automotive and manufacturing sectors.
