It is projected for STREIT Mexico to begin its assembly process and the manufacturing of pieces for the automotive sector on December this year, on its plant located at Marabis de Comonfort Industrial Park.
Likewise, the
French company has anticipated that in January 2020 they will be sending the
first manufactured products to its customers, such as Continental which has its
factory in San Luis Potosi.
STREIT Mexico is
the second company to arrive in the Comonfort Industrial Park and invested 20
million dollars for the construction of the first stage of its industrial
building, which has a property land for a potential expansion.
Xavier Augonnet,
CEO of STREIT Mexico, said that STREIT was founded in 1968 and is focused on
the automotive sector, they began with the development of machining and
assembly products of mechanic components and each year they manufacture
millions of engine components such as center and turbine carcasses, turbo
collectors and exhaust manifolds. And
since 2007 it is part of the Taiwanese corporate Mei Ta.
At the event he
explained that they will begin manufacturing an essential part for the
functioning of the turbocharger named Center Housing on December. Turbochargers are forced induction elements
of the air pump in the engine which generate energy through air injection which
supplies oxygen to create more energy and power.
Currently it has
three plants and the one they are building in Mexico, it is the first plant
they settle in Latin America, choosing Guanajuato before the economic and
automotive growth it has had in the past few years; also for the facilities it
offers in infrastructure, logistics and human talent training, as well as the
commitment people has to progress.
“Three years ago
we began being interested in arriving in here and the state has supported us to
fulfill this goal. The plant has a long
term project, we wait and want to grow here,” he said.
He noted that they
are hoping to manufacture 2,000,000 of Center Housing components on this plant
for the Mexican and the United States market, which is the central part of the
automobile and requires a high precision machining, therefore they will have to
train collaborators in the use of technology to develop it.
“The technology we
use is hard to find in Mexico, and that will allow us to develop and improve
our technology,” he noted.
A property of
33,260 m2 was bought for this project, 7,676 m2 have been
constructed so far with natural lighting as it has skylight and LED lightning,
on its first stage the French company will generate about 240 jobs.
While for the
second stage of Grupo STREIT in Mexico, they are expecting to build 5,000 m2
more for their expansion and reach 400 collaborators.
Miguel Angel
Barreda, commercial director of Lintel, said that they are thankful for the
confidence the company had of giving them the project of building their plant
in Guanajuato.
“We would like you
to know you are welcome to Guanajuato, here you will find strategic allies for
the growth and position of your company, and we are convinced that this
corporate will be a referent for the automotive region,” he said.
