STMA highlights manufacturing innovation and development in South Texas from McAllen

During the first annual meeting of the Southern Texas Manufacturers Association (STMA), the Economic Development Corporations (EDCs) of Harlingen, Pharr, and McAllen showcased their latest industrial projects. Additionally, South Texas College presented its robotics and mechatronics educational programs. A demonstration of an artificially intelligent robotic dog highlighted technological advancements in the region.

Held in McAllen, Texas, the event attracted real estate developers, entrepreneurs, and leaders from economic associations. Notably, outstanding students were awarded $1,000 incentives.

Mike Willis, STMA's CEO, emphasized the significance of collaboration between universities and organizations to drive commercial development and create new jobs. He provided updates on STMA's companies, sponsors, and members.

Erika Guerra, a manufacturing technology instructor at South Texas College, noted the growing demand for mechatronics and robotics programs within the industrial sector.

Carlos García, project manager at Edinburg EDC, presented opportunities in the North Industrial Park. Susie Flores, director of business recruitment at McAllen EDC, announced the arrival of a new company at the PNC building, bringing 15,000 square feet of space and 100 jobs.

Janie Cavazos, business development and property manager at Pharr EDC, highlighted availability in four industrial parks and expansion projects focusing on regional connectivity.
