The Starr-Camargo International Bridge stands out for its efficiency in crossing various types of goods from Mexico to the United States in just a few minutes. Known for operating without queues and accommodating oversized and overweight vehicles, it has become one of the most effective routes for binational trade.

Strategically located between the cities of Camargo, Tamaulipas, and Rio Grande, Texas, the bridge is preparing for an expansion project that will increase the designated lanes for cargo vehicles to 14. This will significantly enhance service for transport companies and operators, as highlighted by Robert Vale, Vice President of Commercial Development.

"We understand how crucial a swift crossing is for Mexican companies trading with the United States. At Starr-Camargo, vehicles are processed in just a few minutes with no queues, and the service is personalized. With our planned expansion to 14 lanes, we'll have even more space to expedite our processes," Vale noted.

The efficiency of the commercial processes at this bridge is also attributed to the implementation of a Joint Customs Inspection program. This involves officers from the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM) and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) working together. This allows for simultaneous document and merchandise inspections at a single location.

"We manage 100% joint customs inspections for import cargo, and our collaboration with Mexican authorities is ongoing to meet all the needs of businesses," Vale added. Numerous transport companies and associations in Mexico have expressed interest in using this bridge as their priority route for trade with the United States. In response, Vale emphasized that efforts are ongoing to expedite the expansion project as soon as possible.
