Robert Vale, Vice President of Commercial Development at Starr-Camargo Bridge Company, announced that the Starr-Camargo International Bridge has extended its operating hours for the return of empty units until 4:00 PM on Sundays. This measure came into effect on February 18.
The successful implementation of this initiative, starting from its first Sunday of application, was made possible through the participation of customs associations in Tamaulipas in Miguel Alemán and Camargo. As a result, there are discussions about maintaining the same schedule permanently.
Vale highlighted several competitive advantages of the bridge for foreign trade processes, particularly emphasizing its status as a private infrastructure. Among these advantages are its ability to process over 800 trucks per day, positioning it as a strategic hub for trade between Mexico and the United States.
He also mentioned the coordinated customs work between the Mexican National Customs Agency (ANAM) and agents of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP), allowing for the review of goods and documents at a single location and in a single instance. Additionally, the bridge permits transit for double-trailer units and overweight vehicles.
The bridge's geographical location, situated in the heart of the commercial corridor between southern Texas and northern Tamaulipas, close to industrial cities like Monterrey and Reynosa, further enhances its appeal. Moreover, it boasts streamlined processes without queues for importation or exportation.
The extension of operating hours and the bridge's unique advantages underscore its pivotal role in facilitating cross-border trade and strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
