The private Starr-Camargo International Bridge continues to strengthen its position as the preferred option for transporters from Nuevo León and Tamaulipas who require a swift and queue-free international crossing for their trade processes between Mexico and the United States.

Beatriz Castro, the International Affairs Officer of Starr-Camargo Bridge, highlighted the growing interest from companies during various meetings with the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment, and Technology (COMCE). Castro explained, “More and more companies are showing interest in our international bridge, especially because we can handle double trailer units, overweight loads, and oversized dimensions, and of course, due to our unique strategic location.”

Located between the cities of Camargo, Tamaulipas, and Rio Grande, Texas, transporters using the Starr-Camargo Bridge can easily access industrial cities in northeastern Mexico or southern Texas, as well as logistical distribution centers, industrial parks, and other business connection points via highways such as the 755 in Texas.

One of the competitive advantages that has generated significant interest among transporters from Nuevo León and Tamaulipas is the joint inspection customs system. This system involves simultaneous inspections by both the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Mexican National Customs Agency (ANAM), leading to greater efficiency in logistical processes.

Starr-Camargo International Bridge has actively participated in recent COMCE meetings, including the Laredo, Texas chapter, where business leaders and authorities emphasized the importance of an efficient and delay-free crossing to meet international trade needs.

At the 63rd assembly of COMCE Northeast in Nuevo León, Castro highlighted the multiple competitive advantages that make this international bridge unique. “As a private international bridge, we are constantly working on improvement projects to streamline foreign trade. We are undertaking various initiatives to expand the international crossing to 14 cargo lanes in the future,” she concluded.
