Stanley Black & Decker opens smart factory in Nuevo León

With an investment of 40 million dollars, the Stanley Black & Decker company began operations of its smart factory in the municipality of Apodaca, in Nuevo León.

 

This plant has Industry 4.0 technology, which guarantees efficient processes and quality in the products that the company offers to its customers, among which DeWalt and Craftsman stand out.

 

The factory will also be responsible for the production of power tools, battery and motor assembly, with a view to the injection of plastics. For these processes the use of data, automation and sustainable energy will be helped. 

 

According to Jaime Ramírez, executive vice president of Black & Decker, this production center measures five hectares and is one of the most advanced and automated in the company.

 

Meanwhile, Karen Barraza, manager of the new manufacturing plant, highlighted that the state was the most outstanding option among the other candidates: “Nuevo León was chosen because it is closer to North America, who make up the main base of our clients; as well as the talent of their workforce and the reputation they have for the ease of doing business ”. 

 

The plant is located in the CPA Industrial Park. 250 people will be employed by the end of this year; and it is expected to be 2,500 by the end of next 2021. 

 

Finally, Barraza highlighted that in order to improve the performance of employees, they will constantly provide training in new processes and technologies.
