SIG will invest 40 million in a new plant in Querétaro

SIG will build a new plant in Querétaro to serve North American markets, the company that provides systems and solutions for aseptic packaging announced in a statement.
"The plant will further expand SIG's global production network and allow the company to build on its strong growth trajectory in North America, " the letter said.
The company reported that through its current sales and service presence, it has been able to forge strong relationships with the main dairies in Mexico , "a large and growing dairy market."
In the US , SIG has a well-established co-manufacturing customer base, and is ideally positioned, the message highlights, to serve new, innovative and expanding categories.
INVESTMENT
The company will invest around 40 million euros in the new plant , during the period 2021-2023. The investment will cover state-of-the-art production capacity for the printing, cutting and finishing of carton packs.
The plant is expected to open in the first quarter of 2023 and will create about 200 jobs . It will have a very flexible layout, focused on ergonomics and the environment. The land and buildings will be financed through a long-term lease with a NPV of approximately 20 million euros, the company reported.
Ricardo Rodríguez , CEO for the Americas , said: "We are very pleased to announce this project that will allow us to serve our North American customers more quickly and efficiently. Delivery times will be shortened and we will be able to respond quickly to changes in demand. Our new plant will further fuel growth in the region, while demonstrating our commitment to the highest environmental standards. "
