Siemens Energy has inaugurated the second phase of its Competence Hub in Querétaro, reinforcing Mexico’s strategic position in global engineering, digitalization, and energy transition projects. The expansion sets a clear target: reaching 750 collaborators by 2026 and 1,000 highly specialized professionals by 2028.

The growth of the center reflects the company’s broader global performance and long-term strategy focused on resilience, productivity, and digital transformation. More than 90% of the team based in Querétaro works on international projects, effectively exporting advanced technical capabilities from Mexico to multiple global markets.

Engineering, Digitalization, and Global Project Integration

The Competence Hub operates as a high-value engineering platform supporting large-scale energy and industrial projects worldwide. Its activities integrate advanced engineering design, digital tools, and specialized technical development aligned with the evolving demands of the global energy sector.

By scaling operations in Querétaro, Siemens Energy strengthens Mexico’s participation in high-complexity engineering services linked to energy infrastructure, decarbonization technologies, and digital project management. The center also serves as a talent development platform, positioning Mexico as a competitive source of specialized STEM professionals for international operations.

Notably, 40% of the workforce is composed of women, with 25% holding leadership positions, reinforcing diversity and inclusion as part of the company’s long-term talent strategy.

Sustainability and High-Value Talent as Competitive Drivers

The campus integrates sustainability criteria into its daily operations, including solar panel installations and water reuse systems. These elements align with the broader objectives of energy transition and environmental responsibility, areas where Querétaro has strengthened its industrial positioning.

With the projected addition of up to 1,000 specialized roles, the expansion enhances Querétaro’s competitiveness as a technology-driven investment destination. The combination of advanced engineering capabilities, skilled human capital, and a stable business environment continues to attract high-value projects to the state.

As global companies increasingly seek nearshore engineering capacity with strong technical depth, Siemens Energy’s expansion underscores Mexico’s evolution from manufacturing hub to global exporter of advanced engineering and digital services.
