Siemens announced an investment of more than 1.3 billion pesos to expand its operations in Querétaro, aiming to increase production capacity and create around 300 jobs.
The announcement was made during Hannover Messe in Hannover, with the participation of Stephan May; Alejandro Preinfalk, President of Siemens Mexico; and Marco Antonio Del Prete, head of Economy in Querétaro.
Siemens investment strengthens advanced manufacturing in Querétaro
The investment adds to the more than 1.8 billion pesos previously announced by the company, bringing Siemens’ total investment in the state to more than 3 billion pesos over the past year. This level of investment reinforces Querétaro’s role as one of Siemens’ main advanced manufacturing centers in the region.
“Querétaro has become a key pillar for Siemens globally. This investment expands our production capacity and strengthens our position to support our customers in their transition toward more digital, sustainable, and resilient industries,” Preinfalk said.
Siemens’ operations in the state, with nearly four decades of presence, are focused on manufacturing solutions for industrial electrification. Its main production lines include panels and control systems for medium- and low-voltage applications, used in sectors such as automotive, food and beverage, and energy infrastructure.
Expansion responds to electrification demand in North America
The expansion will allow the company to optimize production processes, reduce delivery times, and respond to the growing demand for electrification solutions in North America. These facilities are part of Siemens’ global strategy to strengthen industries with greater operational efficiency and lower environmental impact.
In addition to its manufacturing base, Siemens has engineering, research, and development capabilities in Querétaro focused on electrical systems, positioning the state as a relevant node in the integration of innovation and production.
The project also aligns with Mexico’s broader industrial growth, where demand for automation, electrification, and digitalization solutions continues to rise. Expanding capacity in Querétaro will help serve this market and strengthen Siemens’ participation in regional production chains.
