As a unique case in the world, Ramón García, senior vice president of Distribution and Channels of Sony Channel, described the joint initiative that this entertainment company and the municipality of Querétaro undertake to carry out the Shark Tank Querétaro University Experience.

And while the Shark Tank television format, in which entrepreneurs expose their ideas to large entrepreneurs in search of investment, has been taken to the screens of more than 20 countries in the world, it is the first time it has been carried out of the television set and supported by a government entity.

“This is the first time that such an experiment has been done in a state, both nationally and worldwide, we have never done anything like that, where direct support is sought from so many winners. What we do, as a format in Shark, is to unite people who are dedicated to investing, with people who want investment and who want to discuss their ideas, in this case we are working with a local government to close that link, in which this relationship exists direct and direct support ”.

STAGES

After receiving 359 projects, 55 passed the following filter, whose entrepreneurs will begin two months of mentoring, in charge of 26 renowned academics and local entrepreneurs.

During the second stage of the Shark Tank Querétaro University Experience, young entrepreneurs will attend knowledge transfer events, workshops and conferences, focused on the evaluation of investment projects, pitch, marketing, administration, human resources, sales, among others.

Throughout this stage, each project may aspire to receive financial support from an investor and the Municipality of Querétaro. Likewise, 10 projects will be chosen that may be presented in the two programs that Sony Channel will broadcast next May, and where they can aspire to the support of other new investors.

The Shark Tank Querétaro University Experience began on October 29, 2019. A total of 670 young people registered 359 projects through the Emprende Querétaro platform, all from 44 universities, 28 of them established in the Municipality of Querétaro, 10 located in others municipalities and six universities in other states of the country.
