San Luis Potosí Strengthening Economic Ties with Japan: Initiatives for Growth

The Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco) in the state of San Luis Potosí held a meeting with the Consul General of Japan in León, Guanajuato, Katsumi Itagaki, to promote growth initiatives. During the meeting, they emphasized the interest in advancing various collaborative projects to attract new investments. Additionally, they discussed the existing partnerships between Osaka and San Luis Potosí as sister cities, addressing educational, cultural, economic, and touristic aspects on a binational level.
Furthermore, they finalized the details for the upcoming "Nikkei" event scheduled for June in San Luis Potosí. Through the celebration and recognition of Japanese culture, this event aims to foster cultural exchange between both communities.
Another central aspect discussed was the need to streamline and make procedures more efficient between Mexico and Japan. This effort aims to strengthen ties and provide greater benefits to businesses within the state, in pursuit of growth.
In addition, Sedeco announced through a statement that the state will participate in the Foodex 2025 fair, one of the most important international events for promoting business opportunities, introducing local products to global markets, and fostering collaboration with Japanese companies.
