November 11, 2025

Safran has confirmed an investment exceeding 2.06 billion pesos (approximately USD 120 million) to expand three of its facilities in Querétaro, generating 238 new jobs. The projects involve Safran Landing Systems Services Americas and Safran Aircraft Engine Services Americas, further strengthening the state’s position as Mexico’s leading aerospace hub.

Technical Capabilities and Engine Testing Expansion

The expansion includes the installation of two new engine test benches, a major addition that will enhance certification capabilities and after-sales support in the region. Company executives emphasized that this initiative consolidates the assembly chain for long-range landing gear and reinforces Mexico’s competitiveness in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) and advanced manufacturing.

During the announcement, Governor Mauricio Kuri highlighted the strategic importance of the investment:

“Safran is a benchmark for Querétaro’s industry. Today, we celebrate three new projects that will boost employment and added value,” he stated, emphasizing the company’s anchor role in attracting investment and developing local talent.

Alejandro Cardona, President of Safran in Mexico, noted that the projects integrate key technical capacities:

“With these expansions, we are strengthening the assembly chain for long-range landing gear and adding two engine test benches in the state. This will improve operational efficiency and customer response.”

He added that Safran’s workforce in Querétaro will soon reach nearly 4,000 employees.

The General Director of Safran Aircraft Engine Services Americas recognized the continued support of the state administration and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to local supply chains, technology transfer, and specialized human capital. The expansion enhances resilience across Mexico’s aerospace supply chain.

Safran’s investment aligns with its global strategy to scale up critical capacities in engines, landing systems, and service operations, positioning Querétaro as a key platform for serving the North American market. The combination of infrastructure, talent, and a strong industrial ecosystem strengthens productivity and investor confidence in Mexico.
