Rotoplas is looking for entrepreneurs who provide solutions to four challenges in plastic materials

Rotoplas , a leading water solutions and services company, through its innovation hub INNWAI , announced its calls to work collaboratively on projects related to plastic materials.
These initiatives are intended to glimpse significant changes within the company, either with the improvement in the use of raw materials, developments that impact the portfolio of solutions and implementation of technology that minimizes the impact on the environment.
The Mexican company is looking for entrepreneurs, startups, researchers, research centers, organizations from both civil and private society, who have projects or research that provide solutions to four challenges in plastic materials:
- Incorporation or integration of additives for polyolefin formulations that are friendly to the environment and offer physical properties, durability and antibacterial protection.
- Development of bioplastics with a useful life of at least 10 years, applicable to common polyolefin transformation processes.
- Incorporation or integration of compatibilizers and stabilizers for application in formulations with PCR resins (post-consumer resins).
- Incorporation or integration of nanoparticles into virgin polyolefins and PCR, to generate an impact on cost reduction.
These calls are open to the entire American continent from September 1st and there is no deadline for the reception of works. The proposals received will be evaluated and will receive an initial response in a maximum of 15 business days.
Those that obtain a favorable result will enter a follow-up process from which the opportunity to have a direct collaboration with Rotoplas may be released , either to promote research or even implement the project(s) within the company.
“For three years, INNWAI has had collaborative programs to address the challenges of water availability, management, access, treatment and sanitation in areas with water stress both in Mexico and in other latitudes. Today, it is time to look inside the company and we are working very hard with our sustainability strategy where we seek to continue reducing our CO2eq emissions per ton of resin processed, increase the use of recycled resins and pay for our goal of being a carbon company. neutral by 2040,” said Ernesto Rodríguez, Director of Research, Development and Innovation at Rotoplas .
The manager pointed out that the company has expressed its interest in implementing open collaboration strategies that allow meeting technological, social and environmental challenges through the strengthening of innovation ecosystems, which facilitates obtaining answers to the challenges in the day to day of agile and collaborative way.
