Reynosa, Tamaulipas, is poised to receive a substantial industrial investment exceeding $325 million in 2024, marking a remarkable 141% increase from the previous year, according to projections from the city's Secretary of Economic Development and Employment.
In 2023, the city accumulated $230 million in industrial investments, spanning sectors such as electronics, healthcare, logistics, metal mechanics, fulfillment, and various aspects of manufacturing.
For the upcoming year, Reynosa has already confirmed at least six industrial projects with companies including Baja Screen, Velvac, Corning, Pentair, BCS, and Time InterConnect.
"We begin 2024 with a very positive outlook on the industrial front. Numerous foreign companies will be arriving or expanding in the coming months, creating new jobs and contributing to economic development. The city offers many competitive advantages," emphasized Mauricio Garza Treviño, Secretary of Economic Development.
In 2023, the department recorded investments from at least 11 companies, including Baja Screen, XB Logistic, DSV, IDL, Shrest Composites, Kimball Electronics, Erika, Reconexct, Indo Mim, Athletic Sewing, and Ametek.
Treviño Garza highlighted that a significant portion of these investments came from countries such as the United States and India. In 2024, the United States continues to lead the list of investments, followed by China.
"The confirmed investments for the industry in 2024 are in various stages. Some are already under construction, others in the process of obtaining permits, licenses, or hiring personnel. The promotion of Tamaulipas at international fairs and exhibitions has been a significant breakthrough in confirming projects," emphasized Garza.
Beyond the financial boost, the department anticipates the creation of 6,570 new jobs in 2024 stemming from these industrial investments.
