The Rio South Texas Region Binational Autocluster was presented in Reynosa with strong support from local business leaders, highlighting cross-border collaboration and manufacturing potential.

With a strong response from Reynosa’s business sector, the Rio South Texas Region Binational Autocluster was officially introduced as a strategic initiative to position the region as a key hub for the automotive industry, capitalizing on the economic and logistical integration between northern Tamaulipas and South Texas.

Adam González, CEO of COSTEP, Council for South Texas Economic Progress, presented the cluster’s objectives and long-term vision, focused on aligning and connecting the manufacturing industry on both sides of the border. He explained to business leaders that the goal is to jointly promote the Rio South Texas Region as a competitive destination for national and international investment, as well as for the expansion of industrial operations.

The cluster also aims to serve as a driver for regional integration and development by promoting competitiveness, talent, and innovation within the binational automotive sector. To achieve this, it actively fosters collaboration between industry, academia, and local governments, generating synergies that enhance business opportunities and elevate the region’s profile as a strategic node in the global automotive supply chain.

During the event, the Rio South Texas Region Industrial DataSystem was introduced as the cluster’s first strategic phase. This digital platform is designed to consolidate detailed information on the region’s manufacturing companies and will serve as a strategic analysis tool to identify key industrial sectors, map manufacturing processes and core products, and provide a clear diagnostic of the local and regional manufacturing ecosystem. It will also support internal collaboration among stakeholders and enhance the region’s integration into national and global supply chains.
