Google will install its first data center region in Mexico, which will be located in Querétaro. The announcement was made on Monday by Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri and the Secretary of Sustainable Development, Marco del Prete. While the company has chosen to keep the investment amount confidential, the news reinforces the state's position as a hub for digital infrastructure.

"This confirms the state's vocation as a valley of data centers," stated Del Prete. Querétaro is solidifying its status as a strategic hub for data cloud installations, thanks to its privileged location and the security it offers investors.

This new Google data center will be the first in Mexico and the third in Latin America, following Chile and Brazil. The facility will meet the digital infrastructure needs of both Mexico and the entire Latin American region.

Google's arrival in Querétaro adds to other significant investment announcements in the state's technology sector. In March of this year, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a $5 billion investment to establish its first AWS Center in Mexico and the second in Latin America. Similarly, in May, Microsoft began operations of its first data center region in the country. This installation is Microsoft's first in Latin America and is part of its more than 60 cloud regions worldwide.

These developments highlight the growing importance of Querétaro as a center for technological infrastructure in the region, attracting investments from major global technology companies and consolidating its role in the digital economy.
