Querétaro Hosts TXST’s First International Campus

Texas State University (TXST) has officially opened its first international campus in Querétaro, Mexico, marking a significant milestone for the institution.
The campus was established through a partnership between Texas State University and the Elisia Education Hub foundation, and is located in the municipality of Colón. The new campus will offer undergraduate degrees in Computer Science, Biochemistry, Mass Communication, International Relations, Psychology, Nutrition, and Interior Design.
During the inauguration event, Texas State University President Kelly Damphousse and Elisia Education Hub President Ricardo González Valdés formalized the agreement with a signing ceremony.
Founded in 1899, Texas State University boasts over 125 years of academic excellence. It was ranked sixth globally by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) in 2023 and named one of the best universities in the U.S. by Princeton Review and Forbes in 2024.
Martha Elena Soto Obregón, Secretary of Education for the state of Querétaro, highlighted the state's commitment to providing educational opportunities that equip students to meet global challenges with creativity, ethics, and excellence.
"The presence of this university in Querétaro is a tangible testament to our vision for accessible, globalized education. We are thrilled to see how the academic excellence of this institution will integrate with the values and culture of our region," she emphasized.
