Queretaro has a portfolio of 55 investment projects

52 projects were finalized, representing more than 34.772 billion pesos (MXN) in investment and the creation of 15,293 jobs in the state of Querétaro. Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, head of the Ministry of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), presented the economic growth report for the region in 2023, highlighting new investments, employment, exports, and support for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).


Labor Poverty Indicator


According to the provided information, Querétaro maintained an average growth rate of 3.9%, showed a high Social Progress Index, and the labor poverty indicator was in the green, meaning it had a lower level than the national average.


Del Prete emphasized that 45,700 new jobs were created from January to November, the registered salary ranked fifth highest in the country, and the labor formality rate was 61.6%, keeping Querétaro in the third position.


According to the latest available data from INEGI, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2022 grew by 3%, with a 2.2% contribution from primary activities, 41.8% from secondary activities, and 49.6% from tertiary activities.


Higher Investment Amount


"This year, 52 projects were finalized, which is one project every week, representing over 34,772 million pesos. This reflects a growth of 10.6% compared to the projects completed the previous year and an investment amount 32.7% higher," reported Del Prete.


With this, there is an accumulated total of 103 projects since the start of the administration, with an amount exceeding 61,110 million pesos, generating 29,733 new jobs. Additionally, there is currently a portfolio of 55 projects with an investment of over 156,174 million pesos and the potential creation of 26,204 jobs.


Export Growth


For the period from January to June, Querétaro experienced a 12.8% growth in exports, totaling nine billion one hundred fifteen million dollars (USD). The main destinations were the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, and Germany, with the primary exported products being parts and accessories of motor vehicles.
