Queretaro, fourth destination of aeronautic investment

Queretaro consolidated
as the fourth destination for aeronautic investment worldwide and as the
technological and innovation development center of this sector, said Francisco
Dominguez, governor of the State.
The official said that
thanks to the installed capability for the development of forefront technology,
the high competences in human resources linked with the needs of the aerospace
sector, Queretaro has become an attractive place for the arrival of these
industry investments.
He mentioned that
Queretaro is managing the arrival of a new investment project of the Safran
Company, what will be its eighth plant in the State.
Currently, the French
company has six plants in Queretaro; and in February was confirmed a new
investment to build its seventh plant in the entity.
“We have a very
aggressive agenda in this sector; we just arrived to Germany, where we gathered
with the most important aerospace companies in the world. There are expansion plans of many of
them. We went to Paris, to the Safran
corporate, which have another project they will settle on December or at the
beginning of 2019, and there is Queretaro pointed, we compete with other parts
of the world and Mexican States,” he said.
VALUE CHAIN
“Value chains with
global impact are developed here. This
sector is integrated by 85 companies and organizations, including 12 research
and design centers, and seven academic institutions,” he explained.
Moreover, Queretaro
houses the National Center for Aeronautical Technologies (CENTA, by its Spanish
initials) where the first airplane 100 % Mexican is being developed, and the
Universidad Aeronautica en Queretaro (UNAQ,) unique in the country.
According to the
governor, the Queretaro International Airport (AIQ, by its Spanish initials) is
the one of highest sustainable growth in Mexico, for passengers, as well as in
cargo.
“It is a sector that
has brought more than 230 manufacturers worldwide in 15 years, mainly, American
and European. It is a high
specialization niche that adds 8,500 direct jobs in Queretaro in the last 10
years; in addition, 50 % of Foreign Direct Investment of the sector has been
captured,” he noted.
Finally, he announced
that thanks to the engines processes and airplanes equipment, the production
value in the manufacture sector from the Manufacture of Transportation
Equipment increased 47.42 % since 2013 and that only in the period of January
to May, this sector produced more than 28,433 million pesos.
