QSM Invests MXN 777 Million in Querétaro, Strengthening Mexico’s Semiconductor Industry
February 24, 2026
QSM Semiconductores has inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in Mexico, located in the Parque Industrial Tecnológico Innovación in the municipality of El Marqués. The project involved an investment of MXN 777 million and the creation of 210 specialized jobs focused on high-precision manufacturing.
The facility positions Querétaro as an emerging technology hub within Mexico’s semiconductor landscape, reinforcing the state’s growing profile in advanced manufacturing, data centers, and innovation-driven industries.
Investment in MEMS Technology and High-Value Employment
QSM specializes in semiconductor manufacturing using MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology for high-precision integrated circuits—components essential to industries such as automotive, medical devices, and electronics.
The project strengthens Mexico’s domestic supply chain in a sector widely considered strategic for industrial competitiveness and technological sovereignty. By producing advanced components locally, the facility contributes to reducing dependence on external suppliers while expanding national capabilities in precision manufacturing.
During a plant tour, QSM Mexico Director Alejandro Franco Rodríguez emphasized the company’s goal of fostering a domestic semiconductor ecosystem, linking investment, high-value job creation, and technological development.
Building National Technological Capacity
The facility is designed to increase domestic value added in the production of critical components while promoting local innovation and engineering capabilities. Its establishment represents a significant step toward developing in-country expertise in both the design and manufacturing of precision electronic devices.
QSM’s presence complements the expansion of other high-tech sectors in Querétaro, including aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and digital infrastructure. Together, these industries create a favorable environment for specialized investment and talent development.
By establishing semiconductor production capacity in Mexico, the project contributes to positioning the country within global supply chains that are increasingly seeking diversification and regionalization following recent disruptions in semiconductor availability.
