Puebla is emerging as a key destination for national and international investments, thanks to the assurances provided by the State Government to businesses, according to Governor Sergio Salomón. He made these remarks while announcing Engie Mexico's investment of 1.195 billion pesos to expand natural gas infrastructure.
"This investment, starting with 159 million by the end of 2024, will strengthen natural gas infrastructure development for the industrial parks in Puebla, San Martín, and Huejotzingo, creating better conditions for more companies to establish themselves in Puebla," the governor stated.
Ana Ludlow, Vice President of Government Affairs and Sustainability at ENGIE Mexico, emphasized the company's commitment to economic growth aligned with sustainability in Puebla, through the development of 490 kilometers of natural gas infrastructure from this year until 2030. The projects will cover industrial, commercial, and residential areas, aiming for balanced and sustainable growth across various sectors.
Ermilo Barrera, Secretary of Economy, highlighted that Puebla represents over 10% of the distributed clean generation capacity with programs such as solar schools in Educational Centers, the largest of its kind, and public mobility policies, including vehicle chargers.
"The state's leadership extends to human talent, as Puebla ranks second in certifying labor for the installation and supervision of distributed clean energy generation and is the first state with women participating in this field. The state also diversifies its energy matrix, embracing not only the transition to clean sources but also key resources for industrial development, competitiveness, and sustainability, such as natural gas," the secretary noted.
