Puebla

November 22, 2025

Puebla’s Development Hub for Well-Being has reached an investment projection of MXN 20 billion, generating 20,000 direct jobs and between 30,000 and 40,000 indirect jobs. This positions the initiative as the first project nationwide to fully activate its industrial polygons, marking a turning point for the state’s economic development.

Regional Momentum and Industrial Specialization

The initiative aims to reactivate an area that had remained inactive for 15 years. During a meeting led by Governor Alejandro Armenta with the participation of Luis Ernesto Salomón Delgado, Technical Secretary of the Intersecretarial Commission of the Ministry of Economy, several investment projects seeking to join the Capital of Technology and Sustainability were presented. The goal is to trigger an economic transformation process that strengthens emerging industrial vocations.

Salomón Delgado reaffirmed federal government support to facilitate the establishment of national and foreign companies in the Development Hub’s polygons. He emphasized that the project includes institutional guidance to ensure certainty, infrastructure, and streamlined processes for investors.

Governor Armenta stressed that the Capital of Technology and Sustainability is designed to promote community wealth and drive the economic revitalization of the state. He noted that the project will be strengthened by the Passenger Train Puebla–Mexico City–Veracruz, promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, which will enhance regional connectivity and competitiveness.

Projects Presented and Productive Sectors

Several projects were introduced in sectors such as food processing, plastics, recycling, audiovisual production, metalworking, and transportation equipment. These included Agrotech Hub, Motores Limpios Zacua, Peisa Foods, the Recycling and Tire Micronization Unit, Empacadora Villacarriedo, Estudios Cinematográficos Puebla Cinco de Mayo, Gran Valle Puebla Cinco de Mayo, and Universidad de América Latina.

The evaluation process involved the Development Bank as well as the Advisory Council for Regional Economic Development and Relocation. Technical teams reviewed proposals related to clean industry, electromobility, educational infrastructure, food production, specialized recycling, and agro-industrial development to ensure viability and alignment with the Hub’s objectives.

In an additional meeting with mayors from municipalities surrounding the project area, the governor urged local governments to join the strategy to regain economic momentum and capitalize on new opportunities. Attendees included representatives from San Salvador el Seco, Nopalucan, Mazapiltepec, Acatzingo, San José Chiapa, Ocotepec, San Nicolás Buenos Aires, Soltepec, Rafael Lara Grajales, Cuyoaco, Libres, Oriental, Acajete, Tepatlaxco, and Amozoc.

With these actions, the State Government reaffirms its commitment to an inclusive economic model and to attracting investments that strengthen regional development, generate employment, and expand opportunities for companies and communities linked to the project.
