During the month of July, wholesale sales of heavy vehicles registered a total of 3,185 units , which compared to the 2,743 units sold during the same month in 2021, represent an increase of 16.1 percent.

The above data was released by the National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor Producers (ANPACT). It should be noted that cumulative wholesale sales from January to July registered a total of 21,901 units , a figure that represents a growth of 26.3% when compared to the 17,345 that were sold during the same period in 2021.

Likewise, ANPACT  presented that in the month of July, a total of 13,032 exported units was registered , which compared to the 11,076 exported in the same month of 2021 , represents a growth of 17.7 percent.

PRODUCTION AND EXPORT

Units exported during the first seven months reached 89,027 units , a figure that represents an accumulated growth of 8.8% compared to those sold abroad in the first seven months of last year.

In the seventh month of 2022, a total of 16,314 heavy vehicles were produced, which, compared to the 12,975 manufactured during the same month of 2021, represents an increase of 25.7%.

The production of heavy vehicles during January to July totaled 107,647 units, which translates into a growth of 12.5% compared to the same period of the previous year, in which a total of 95,688 units were produced.

Miguel Elizalde, executive president of ANPACT , said that the export and production figures demonstrate the importance that the North American market has for the economy as a whole and for the national production plant. For this reason, he considered that it is important to preserve the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC) as an instrument that promotes investment , free trade, job creation and the development of the region .

“It is important to continue the work for the harmonization of local regulations with the General Law of Mobility and Road Safety (LGMSV), to promote issues such as the renewal of public transport and cargo in the country, avoid over-regulation and have consistent and solid databases for safer, more efficient mobility with less environmental impact.”

Given the potential risk that the economies of North America will slow down - he added - it is important that the assumptions of the LGMSV materialize, such as the modernization of public transport, to boost the domestic market and that the value chain of the motor transport sector continues to generate jobs. and economic flow in Mexico.

"Achieving more inclusive, dignified and environmentally responsible mobility depends on our ability to renew passenger and cargo transport at the national and state levels, through access to financing, green incentives and tax incentives," he concluded.

The National Association of Manufacturers of Buses, Trucks and Tractor Trucks, AC (ANPACT) has represented the leading producers of commercial vehicles and engines since 1992. With 14 associates such as Dina, Freightliner, Hino, International, Isuzu, Kenworth, Mack, MAN, Mercedes -Benz, Scania, Volkswagen, Volvo, Cummins and Detroit Diesel .

In addition, it promotes 10 vehicle manufacturing plants and two engine manufacturing plants in eight entities. The automotive industry in Mexico of heavy vehicles is the number one exporter of trucks worldwide, fourth exporter and fifth producer of cargo vehicles, and eighth producer of buses. This industry generates 18,500 direct jobs, 84,000 indirect jobs and represents 1.3% of the Manufacturing GDP.
