With a cumulative investment of $660 million between 2023 and 2025, Kellanova has officially opened its first Pringles manufacturing plant in México, located in Querétaro. This move consolidates the company's growth strategy in Latin America and represents a major step in strengthening its presence in the region. The new facility has the capacity to produce over 150 million units annually, with a design that allows this figure to double in the near future.

The plant is located within Kellanova’s existing industrial complex in Querétaro. It becomes the second Pringles production site in Latin America and the sixth globally dedicated to the iconic snack brand. Production from this facility will serve not only the domestic market but also customers in Central America, the Caribbean, and the Pacific region, supported by a robust and strategically located logistics platform.

Operational innovation with a sustainable focus

This new Pringles plant is distinguished by its incorporation of advanced technology, including a filling line that operates 50% faster than others in the group. It is equipped to handle a variety of flavors and product formats specifically tailored to Mexican consumer preferences and optimized for distribution through small retailers and neighborhood stores.

One of the most noteworthy achievements is the plant’s operational gender parity, it is the first Kellanova facility in Latin America to achieve this standard.

“We are very proud to say that 50% of the positions in this plant are held by women. This is a fundamental part of our vision for diversity and equity,” said Arturo Anguiano, Vice President of Supply Chain for Latin America.

From an environmental standpoint, the plant was designed with a strong commitment to sustainability. Approximately 90% of its energy comes from renewable sources. It features treated water reuse systems, and organic waste from potato production is repurposed as animal feed, in line with a circular economy approach.

México: The heart of Kellanova in Latin America

During the opening ceremony, Víctor Marroquín, President of Kellanova Latin America, emphasized the plant as a long-term commitment to the Mexican market. “We want to be on Mexican tables for the next 100 years. This plant is a solid step in that direction,” he stated.

He also highlighted the company’s longstanding history in México, with over 90 years of commercial presence and four operational plants in the country. Querétaro is home to Kellanova’s financial and operational hub for Latin America, and the new Pringles facility strengthens this productive ecosystem with a vision centered on innovation, proximity to consumers, and competitiveness.

Since July 2024, over 800 hours of training have been provided to staff operating the new production line, including practical stays at Kellanova’s plant in Brazil. In its initial phase, the project will generate 300 direct jobs and around 1,000 indirect jobs, supporting the development of the region's agro-industrial cluster.

With this investment, Kellanova reinforces its position as a key player in México’s food industry and transforms Querétaro into a vital hub for its international operations.
