Plásticos Durex announces MXN 215 million investment to expand its plant in Querétaro

Plásticos Durex announced a MXN 215 million investment to expand its manufacturing plant in the state of Querétaro, reinforcing its industrial presence in the region and consolidating its production platform within Mexico’s automotive supply chain.
According to the company, the investment will be allocated to the production of components for conventional suspension systems, air suspension systems, and dust covers, all critical inputs for the automotive industry. The expansion will be located at Querétaro Airport Industrial Park and is expected to generate 600 direct and indirect jobs, further strengthening the state’s competitiveness as a destination for specialized manufacturing.

During the investment announcement, company executives outlined the current operational status of Plásticos Durex in Querétaro, along with its short- and medium-term growth plans. The discussion also included strategies for bilateral collaboration aimed at strengthening both the company’s operations and the local industrial ecosystem.
Plásticos Durex is a family-owned company specializing in technological solutions for the transformation of plastics and rubber, with a strong focus on the automotive sector. Its operations integrate processes such as plastic injection and extrusion, rubber injection, rubber-to-metal manufacturing, and component assembly, enabling the company to meet high value-added and precision-driven requirements.
Plásticos Durex strengthens its global footprint from Querétaro
The company currently operates three production plants located in Spain, Poland, and Mexico, providing integrated solutions to its clients under a long-term partnership model within the global automotive supply chain.
The investment announcement was attended by Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González, who is currently on a working tour in Spain, along with Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, Secretary of Tourism; Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, Secretary of Sustainable Development; Mauricio Herbert Pesquera, Private Secretary; Alejandro Rolland Ruiz, Director of Industrial Promotion; and the mayors of Colón, Gaspar Trueba Moncada, and Corregidora, Chepe Guerrero. Their participation underscores the level of institutional support backing productive investment projects in the state.
