Pharr International Bridge Registers Over $38.8 Billion in Trade During 2023

More than $38.8 billion was accumulated in commercial activities by the Pharr International Bridge from January to October 2023. Through imports, the bridge connecting Pharr, Texas, with Reynosa, Tamaulipas, reached $24.47 billion, showing a 4.91% increase compared to the same period in 2022. Meanwhile, exports accounted for $14.44 billion. In the first eight months of 2023, the Pharr International Bridge ranked as the eighth most utilized border crossing in the United States.


Imports: Televisions


Out of the $24.37 billion achieved by the Pharr International Bridge between January and October 2023, the distribution included televisions at 7.0%, avocados at 6.5%, insulated cables at 5.3%, medical instruments at 4.6%, and boards, panels, and electrical switches at 4.3%.


Figures provided by the administration of the Pharr International Bridge detail that in October 2023 alone, television imports accumulated $1.7 billion, avocados $1.58 billion, insulated cables $1.2 billion, medical instruments $1.12 billion, and boards, panels, and electrical switches $1.04 billion.


Exports: gasoline


Regarding exports, gasoline led the list at 20%, followed by liquefied natural gas at 13%, pork meat at 3.6%, motor vehicle parts at 3.4%, and computer chips at 3.3%.


In October 2023, gasoline trade amounted to $2.93 billion, liquefied natural gas $1.76 billion, pork meat $514.65 million, motor vehicle parts $487.55 million, and computer chips $470.47 million.
