The inauguration of the Product Testing and Exhibition Center by OMRON Automation Americas’ PoC Guadalajara, a flagship facility, took place recently in the heart of the financial district of the Guadalajara metropolitan area. The event showcased a wide range of innovations designed to optimize operations and increase productivity in the business and industrial sectors.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge automation and possibilities for achieving perfection in inspection, from vision solutions to collaborative robot palletizing.

At the event led by OMRON Automation Americas President, CEO, and COO Rob Black, attendees received practical demonstrations of state-of-the-art technologies, including vision solutions executed with GigE Vision and USB3 industrial cameras directly to the monitor, along with smart cameras designed for code reading and defect analysis, and an FH vision system integrating Artificial Intelligence for fine matching.

Similarly, demonstrations related to collaborative robot palletizing, integrating vision systems and safety measures for unmatched traceability in logistics environments, were showcased. Advanced motion control demonstrations were also featured, allowing observation of integrated motion control operations using standard PLCOpen to enable independent, synchronized, and coordinated movement with the Sysmac platform.

With on-site participation from OMRON's Vice President of Robotic Technologies and Safety Engineering, Kevin Peniche, guests also witnessed innovative solutions presented by autonomous mobile robots, which easily integrate into production workflows and feature robust safety measures. They also experienced firsthand vibration suppression through agitation mitigation of items, protection against load displacement, and safeguarding of delicate materials.

The event was also attended by Regional Sales Director Leandro Nicodemo, who provided guidance to visitors on demonstrations of components and sensors interacting with a variety of high-quality products, such as panel meters, temperature controllers, power supplies, limit switches, related to recent preventive maintenance solutions.

Legal and Compliance Director for Latin America Paola Serna also attended the event, responsible for regulatory compliance in the region. It was confirmed that PoC Guadalajara serves as an operations center for experienced engineers, salesforce, and support staff, who, with professionalism and customer service, will address specific needs regarding vision systems, PLCs, motion control, or other areas of automation, to provide personalized solutions and support.

Senior Director of Risk, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Facility Management Kevin Bulatek observed the company's commitment to its customers at the formal launch of the center, offering comprehensive inspection solutions to meet the full spectrum of inspection needs for any SMT manufacturer, utilizing artificial intelligence and advanced imaging techniques, encompassing inspection systems and root cause identification of failures while eliminating escapes and false calls.

Xavier Orendáin de Obeso, head of the General Strategic Coordination of Growth and Economic Development of the Jalisco State Government, on behalf of the state executive, publicly recognized the directors and human talent of the OMRON Automation Americas Product Testing and Exhibition Center for this milestone. Additionally, he acknowledged their collective experience of over 50 years in industrial automation, which, as announced by the company, will undoubtedly propel manufacturers towards defect-free production, improve their performance, and, of course, favor value contribution from this entity and the central-western region to strengthen productivity and competitiveness.
