ODATA invests more than 2 mmdp in new data center in Queretaro

The Brazilian company ODATA will open a data center in Querétaro, in which it will invest 2,320 million pesos and will generate more than 350 jobs .

The general director of ODATA Mexico , Ricardo Arévalo , said that the data center will offer neutral connectivity and colocation solutions, that is, hosting privately owned servers and network equipment in information technology rooms.

The location will be built in the municipality of El Marqués , on an area of 52,350 square meters (m2), with a construction area of ​​30,400 m2 ; It will have the latest technology in the design and construction of data centers, power redundancy with various electrical substations, power generators and state-of-the-art cooling equipment .

Ricardo Arévalo pointed out that the property should be completed by the end of 2021 and will begin operations in 2022 .

“Querétaro is a state that has given us all the facilities, in all senses, from permits, procedures, support, a number of people with the talent that companies like ODATA and technology require  . Here in Querétaro we have these resources ”, he shared.

During the investment announcement ceremony, the Governor of Querétaro , Francisco Domínguez Servién , mentioned that the dynamics of recovery of the economic sectors follows a path of trust, linkage and adaptation, for which he celebrated that this status for the opening of the center. 

“ Querétaro has a strategic location, an environment of labor peace and social peace; solid Triple Helix growth model that links industry, academia and government; a consolidated cluster, made up of 152 companies ”, he pointed out.

In his speech, the head of the Secretariat for Sustainable Development (Sedesu), Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero , reported that the software industry   participates with 1.4% of the state's gross domestic product and represents almost 13,000 million pesos.

He indicated that, according to data from the Information Technology Cluster , the sector provides employment to more than 20,000 Queretans , a figure that will be strengthened with the investment from ODATA . 

He stressed that so far in the administration , 17 investment projects have been completed in the area, which have attracted an investment of more than 3,800 million pesos.
