Nuevo León recorded a 10.9% increase in vehicle exports during H1 2025, outperforming national trends and reinforcing its leadership in the automotive industry.

Nuevo León reaffirmed its leadership in Mexico’s automotive industry by posting a 10.9% growth in vehicle exports during the first half of 2025, according to data from INEGI and the Administrative Registry of the Light Vehicle Automotive Industry (RAIAVL).

Betsabé Rocha, Secretary of Economy, noted that the increase reflects investor confidence in the state. “This growth means more investment and more opportunities for companies in Nuevo León. It is a testament to the strength of our automotive industry,” she stated.

Local Growth Defies National Downturn

In June alone, vehicle exports from Nuevo León rose 6.7% year-over-year, while the country as a whole reported a 3.3% contraction in cumulative exports. This contrast highlights Nuevo León’s resilience amid a challenging global environment.

Rocha emphasized that the success is not only due to major automakers, but also to the network of local suppliers that bolster the regional supply chain. In Q1 2025, the transport equipment sector accounted for 30.85% of the state’s total exports, reinforcing its role as a key pillar of the local economy.

Economic Strategy Boosts Automotive Growth

Overall, Nuevo León’s exports grew 1.6% during the first half of the year, signaling a healthy level of resilience. On a national scale, manufacturing exports increased by 6.2%, indicating that the productive sector remains robust despite global uncertainties.

The growth in vehicle exports is aligned with Nuevo León’s 2025 Economic Strategy, which emphasizes investment, innovation, and the strengthening of SMEs. These efforts support job creation, technological development, and the state’s global competitiveness.
