Motores de Reynosa
(Nidec) started the construction of the second operations plant located in
Reynosa, Tamaulipas. The startup of the
construction was held within a ceremony in which state and municipal government
authorities, as well as directives from the company, placed the cornerstone of
what will be this plant dedicated to the manufacturing of engines for the
robotic industry.
The new Nidec plant
will be built with an investment of 25 million dollars and will allow the
generation of 400 direct jobs which will be added to more than 1,300 employees
the company founded in this city in 1995 has. This new plant will be erected on
a surface larger than the 150,000 square meters, with the possibility of being
expanded to 50,000 square meters more.
The cornerstone
ceremony of this new plant was attended by Masao Sambe, president of Nidec;
Michael Briggs, president of Nidec America; Greg Levine, president of Nidec
Motion Control and Marisol Garza Carreri, human resources director of the
company in Latin America.
The governor of
Tamaulipas, Francisco Garcia Cabeza de Vaca, was the gest honor in the ceremony
and underlined that the expansion of this company in the state is an example of
the confidence the economic development registered in the entity has generated.
“The best formula to
be able to fight poverty is by generating richness, investment, employment,
there is no other formula and it is on that in which we are concentrated, my
government is focused on generating that trust to return investment, as it is
happening,” he said.
The governor also underlined the labor stability that has distinguished the entity thanks to continuous communication and collaboration among the productive, labor and government sectors.
Greg Levine
highlighted that “when we started our robotics division in 2014 we could choose
any place in the world to build this plant, and our Factory in Reynosa have
never launched any new product before, but its people did a great job by
releasing our new products.”
