The project underscores the momentum of nearshoring along the border and Tamaulipas’s role as a key manufacturing hub.
Capacity for Alternators and Key Markets
The Reynosa facility produces Leroy-Somer™ alternators for global use, a critical component in power generation solutions applied in strategic industries such as data centers, healthcare, and oil & gas.
Meeting with Global Leadership
As part of a visit from the company’s global leadership, the Reynosa plant welcomed Mitsuya Kishida, President and CEO of Nidec Corporation, who toured the operations, met with the team, and reviewed the progress of the expansion project. Project Milestones
The investment was publicly announced in July 2024 and formally launched with its inauguration on January 20, 2025. This marked the beginning of a new stage of greater capacity to meet the rising demand for alternators in North America.
Why It Matters for the Industry
The expansion strengthens the region’s manufacturing ecosystem, increases installed capacity for alternator production, and supports the growth of energy and digital infrastructure.
