Japanese company NHK Spring México has officially inaugurated its new motor core production plant at the Castro del Río Technoindustrial Park, in Irapuato, Guanajuato. With an investment of 55 million USD and the creation of 233 direct jobs, this expansion underscores the company's strong confidence in Guanajuato and reinforces its role in the growing electric and hybrid vehicle market.

During the opening ceremony, Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo highlighted the strategic partnership between NHK and the state of Guanajuato, a relationship that was strengthened during her recent visit to Yokohama on May 8. “NHK Spring México and Guanajuato are becoming key allies,” she stated in front of the company’s leadership.

NHK Motor Core plant: clean technology and industrial growth

The newly inaugurated Motor Core Plant, located next to NHK’s original facility established in 2014, will focus on manufacturing core components for vehicles utilizing clean technologies. This will help streamline industrial processes and increase the company's installed production capacity. NHK had previously expanded its operations in 2017 with an investment of 50 million USD.

Japanese investments position Guanajuato as a strategic hub

Founded in 1939, NHK Spring is a globally recognized leader in automotive suspension springs. The company also manufactures industrial machinery, vehicle seating, and safety systems, renowned for its innovation in materials and manufacturing techniques.

This new investment is part of a broader economic promotion tour in Japan, during which 105 million USD in projects were secured by the state government. In total, the current administration has successfully attracted 20 investment projects, amounting to over 2.29 billion USD and generating 5,506 new jobs.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by local officials and key representatives from NHK, including Kazuhisa Uemura, President of NHK, Seiichi Saitoh, CEO, and Takero Aoyama, Consul General of Japan in León. All reaffirmed their commitment to the sustainable growth and development of the region.
