Nestlé has announced the opening of two new production lines at its Purina plant in Silao, Guanajuato, representing a $220 million investment. This significant step will substantially increase the production capacity of dry and wet food for dogs and cats, further solidifying the company's leading position in the Mexican market.

The project, which took two years to complete, is characterized by the highest standards of safety, technology, artificial intelligence, and environmental sustainability. The expansion of the factory in Silao, Guanajuato, along with the 48-hectare increase in land in León, will allow for future expansions and greater distribution capacity, shared Francisco Mualim, vice president and general manager of Nestlé Purina Mexico.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent figures such as Laurent Freixe, CEO of Nestlé for Latin America, Fausto Costa, president of Nestlé Mexico, and Carlos Romano, president of Nestlé Purina Latin America. Additionally, veterinarians, business partners, suppliers, and collaborators who contributed to the project's success were present.

Commitment to Pets' Lives

This significant step not only strengthens Nestlé Purina Mexico's commitment to excellence and innovation but also demonstrates its concern for animal welfare and job creation in the region. Hundreds of direct and indirect jobs are being created in an organization committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Mualim expressed that this achievement reflects the excellent performance of the business and the confidence that the Nestlé group has in Nestlé Purina Latin America & the Caribbean. He emphasized that Nestlé Purina Mexico will continue to work with the purpose of enriching the lives of pets and the people who love them in Mexico, always striving for excellence to continue leading the market.

"We will continue working so that pets have a longer, healthier, and happier life. Together, we are improving the quality of life for pets and the people who love them, every day," he concluded.
