Swedish-based company Munters inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Apodaca, Nuevo León, as part of its growth strategy in Mexico and the consolidation of its presence in the country’s northern industrial corridor.

With this opening, the company now operates its second facility in Mexico, reinforcing the state’s position as a destination for high-value foreign direct investment and advanced industrial manufacturing.

Swedish Investment Drives Industrial Growth in Apodaca

Over the past 16 months, Munters has invested MXN 190 million in its Mexican operations, with a second phase of expansion currently underway. This development forms part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its production capacity in the region and deepen Swedish industrial investment in northern Mexico.

The expansion has led to the creation of 100 new jobs, alongside significant commercial growth. According to company data, Munters’ sales in Mexico increased from USD 37 million to USD 68 million, reflecting the economic impact of the project in Apodaca and its role in strengthening Nuevo León’s industrial base.

The new plant will manufacture evaporative cooling panels, humidification systems, and industrial climate control solutions, serving applications in data centers, turbines, condensers, and both industrial and residential environments. These products meet international standards for energy efficiency and advanced dehumidification technologies.

Nuevo León Government Highlights Confidence in the Industrial Environment

During the inauguration, Betsabé Rocha Nieto, Nuevo León’s Secretary of Economy, emphasized that Munters’ expansion demonstrates the confidence of globally active Swedish companies in the state’s talent, infrastructure, and industrial environment.

The event was attended by municipal authorities from Apodaca, representatives of the state’s Ministry of Economy, and Munters executives from the United States and Europe, who participated in the official opening of the new facility.
