More investment and expansions to be concreted at GIP
June 4, 2018
Guanajuato Inland Port (GIP) shows a continuous growth, due to that at least 40 companies have announced more expansion plans such as Nivea and Pirelli, which are in that process and were the first companies in being installed in this part of the industrial park.
In this respect, Luis Quiroz, president of Guanajuato Inland Port, said that these expansions will generate between 4 thousand to 5 thousand more jobs, considering an average of 100; although he said that there will be companies which in their expansion will be hiring 500 or nobody because maybe the expansion is only for equipment.
He emphasized that even
some companies that do not have enough space to fulfill their expansions are
buying more property lands in GIP, either to settle new machinery or as part of
the opening of more production lines.
“All those projects are
already taking place or about to start, the fact is that they will be concreted
by the end of this year,” he noted.
He explained that despite
the renewal of the Free Trade Agreement and fiscal reforms, companies have a
vision in a medium and long term for investments and added that it is important
because they make a decision that even sometimes it implies duplicating the
investment they originally have,” he explained.
“This kind of investments
and the fact that things are going right despite the uncertainly is
interesting, as regarding the FTA, a moment of analysis will be opened, it will
be signed and it is going to be fine,” he explained.
He highlighted that in the
business sector there is interest due to the Know How appearance after this
moment of uncertainty, therefore he did not discard that Inland Port continues
growing and offering more and better services for the industry.
“We are very encouraged by
companies continue expanding, but particularly we are interested in technology
development.”
SKY PLUS FINISHES ITS FIRST STAGE
Luis Quiroz said about the
Sky Plus advances, that it has finished a first stage which belongs to
urbanization, which has more than one kilometer of concrete hydraulic roads, in
addition of the electric network and underground public lighting and optic
fiber for telecommunications.
He added that Sky Plus is
prepared to receive first global level companies, for that the construction of
18,000 square meters of Class A industrial buildings will be started.
“This complex will strength the Bajio region in order to turn it more competitive and transform it in a premier manufacturing destination and of aerospace logistics,” he underlined.
He said that later two
industrial buildings will be built two industrial buildings for leasing in
order to facilitate that some companies begin their settlement.
