Mission EDC Highlights 50% GDP Growth for Rio South Texas

The prosperity that the Rio South Texas region has registered is evidenced by a growth of more than 50% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) between 2010 and 2021, recently highlighted Teclo García, CEO of the Economic Development Corporation in Mission, Texas . (Mission EDC), referring to data from the St.Louis Federal Reserve.
The contribution rises to 54% for the metropolitan area, which includes the cities of McAllen, Edinburg and Mission, reaching 25.500 million dollars, while in Brownsville and Harlingen it rose to 13.220 million.
The CEO of Mission EDC included the metropolis of Laredo, Texas, which grew by 75%, while Corpus Christi by 36%, both in the period from 2010 to 2021, but when referring to the GDP of San Antonio, García mentioned that the curve The increase was 73%, which is the highest number of all the South Texas River metropolitan areas.
The eleven-year period of growth is a sign of the consolidation and arrival of new companies that have taken advantage of the various competitive advantages that exist from Laredo to Brownsville, near the border with Tamaulipas in Mexico.
Teclo García recognized that the growth of the GDP gives a positive message for the arrival of new investments, as it is an expansion by leaps and bounds, but that it also serves as an area of opportunity in which the region can be further consolidated.
